What is the creative internship?
The Social Media & Creative Arts internship exists to partner with the Visual & Creative Arts Director to be the visual voice for Faith Like Birds. The purpose of this position is to help capture and make known what the Lord is both doing and saying through a creative, visual presence that honors God, brings Him glory, and results in a growth of influence and impact with others. This internship serves both the vision and mission of the ministry by utilizing various media platforms to reach and disciple the next generation through the creative arts.
Who is this internship for?

Youth and young adults between the ages of 16 - 30 years old.

Young creatives with talent and interest in the following:

video editing​
-
videography
-
cinematography
-
graphic design
-
social media coordination / content creation
-
motion graphics
-
production / technical director
-
script writer for cinematic shorts
-
mystery skill-set that will help us share about Jesus

How long is the internship? Where are you located?
Time: 9 months (Late August 2024 - Late May 2025)

Location: York, Pennsylvania (our office is located at Praise Community Church)

The ability to be discipled and mentored by the Visual & Creative Arts Director.
What will I do?
Hours vary depending on specified role. Typically 5-10 hours per week.​​

Maintain a vibrant, growing relationship with the Lord by spending at least an hour/day seeking Him and finding Him through such disciplines as prayer, reading scripture, and worship.

Help the Visual & Creative Arts Director reach the next generation by bringing the creative dreams and visions for the ministry to life through creative storytelling. Creativity needs space to try and fail in an atmosphere of freedom.

Expand your knowledge of and talent in your field through personal development and trainings. There may be outside opportunities to join creative conferences and events.

Meet with Visual & Creative Arts Director and/or other creative team members at least once a week to:

cultivate and mature friendship and relationship
-
discuss and report ministry / project happenings
-
discuss and process team book readings / podcast listenings / video watchings
-
be part of brainstorming sessions for future creative ideas / goals
-
pray and seek God’s counsel, guidance, and wisdom for the ministry

Meet with the entire FLB Team once a month to build community.

Will I need my own computer and camera equipment?
While it is recommended, you will not be required to have your own computer. Faith Like Birds has a computer powerful enough to complete heavy video editing and other creative tasks. The ministry will also provide cameras that can be used for capturing content that is purposed for benefiting the ministry.

Interns will have set schedules of when they can use the ministry equipment.
Is it possible to participate in this internship remotely?
It is highly preferred that interns live within easy driving distance to Faith Like Birds' home office; however, some of the tasks such as, video editing, graphic design, motion graphics or script writing may allow for remote work.

Remote applications will be handled on an individual basis. These interns would be required to have a working computer that allows them to complete their creative tasks; they will also be required to Zoom with Mykela once a week to maintain connection and discipleship.
