Desire is the fruit of intimacy.
Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4
No dream is conceived apart from friendship with God.
I truly believe the people of God are entering into a time and season where God sized dreams are being given to those with the biggest “YES.”
This, after all, is the only thing God needs from you.
There is so much that we think is our good idea — so much that we think originated with us.
It was Hannah who wanted a son, but it was God who wanted a Samuel.
It was Zacharias and Elizabeth who also wanted a child, but it was God who wanted a John the Baptist.
The point I’m seeking to make is this: So much of what we desire is actually the result of what it is that God wants to birth through us.
The longer I walk with God, the more I find that there is nothing in this life that we can take the credit for.
He saves us by His grace and He finishes what He started.
Every good and perfect thing comes from Him.
And any desire or dream to bring Him glory and see lives impacted and changed is the result of His planting these very wants inside of us.
Everything starts as a seed.
Our lives are the very womb God desires to deliver His plans through.
His desire and our ‘yes’ is the first stage of the co-laboring process.
This is the conception stage.
This is where I believe so many people are right now or will find themselves very soon.
This is a very precious time.
This is a time of stewardship and celebration — a time where you marvel at what’s been sown within you and a time where you dream of its appearance.
It’s an intimate time where you share the joy of what’s happened with those closest to you and where you dialogue with the Lord about it in anticipation.
It’s very important that during this stage you allow what’s been planted to grow within you.
It’s imperative that you become convinced of what God has whispered in your ear.
If you don’t, the disagreement, questions, and uncertainty of others will snatch away what God wants to release through your life.
Resistance will either make you stronger or it will wipe you out.
Elizabeth hid herself for five months before she had shown that she was pregnant with John the Baptist.
Why?
When you are advanced in years and immediately begin to tell people you are pregnant when you aren’t showing, no one will believe you. But it’s difficult to argue with a five month old belly bump.
What dream is currently swirling around in your spirit?
What new dream is God bringing your way?
How big is your ‘yes?’
For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His
2 Chronicles 16:9
The sold out heart is fertile ground.
When God finds the heart that resounds with a ‘yes,’ He will not only plant dreams within you; He will also function as your midwife.
He’ll be by your side every step of the way — through every trimester, during the labor, and at its birth.
He who conceives it knows how to coach you along the way.
Get ready, dear readers.
My friend and prophet, Lisa Hicks, recently posted on Facebook that God is giving you a new dream and I couldn’t agree more. I had personally received one just days before her post.
God is getting ready to or already has sown something in you — a dream so big that it will take God to bring it to pass.
All you need to do is say, “Yes, Lord.”
